Senior Account Manager

Hiboo Networks Inc. is a new telecommunications company in the Ottawa-Gatineau region that is wholly owned by Hydro Ottawa Holdings Inc.

We are a fast-growing, facility-based data networking provider, operating our own 100% fibre network, focused on providing enterprise-grade data communications, internet and cloud services.

Hiboo Networks Inc. is currently searching for a talented individual to join our team as Senior Account Manager. This position is responsible for selling fibre-optic network point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and internet bandwidth connections to large enterprise customers.

The role also includes creating, managing, and growing key account relationships; developing and driving account strategy; building strategic alliances; and working closely with internal support teams to deliver a customer experience that is second to none.

The position requires strong relationships within the Ottawa-Gatineau enterprise, government, healthcare, education, and general business market.

Skills and Abilities

Technical Acumen

  • Fibre Optic Knowledge: Strong understanding of fibre optic technology, network architecture, common fibre deployments (FTTH, FTTB, FTTP), and basic network protocols (Ethernet, IP).
  • Connectivity Solutions: Ability to articulate the value proposition of internet and networking services such as dedicated internet access, SD-WAN, dark fibre, and managed services.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to understand customer technical challenges and propose appropriate fibre-based solutions.

Sales & Business Development Skills

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and online tools.
  • Consultative Selling: Conducting deep discovery conversations to uncover customer needs, pain points, and objectives.
  • Value-Based Selling: Articulating ROI and business benefits such as speed, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Objection Handling: Addressing customer concerns, competitive pressures, and budget constraints.
  • Negotiation: Closing deals while maintaining profitability.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Proposal Writing: Creating clear, concise, and compelling proposals.

What You Will Do

  • Own client relationships and strategic account planning.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including negotiation and contracting.
  • Acquire customers on Hiboo’s fibre optic network to meet sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using HubSpot.
  • Develop account, territory, and business plans.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with leadership and customers.
  • Build proactive client relationships and seek continuous feedback.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to support customer success.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms aligned with company strategy.
  • Model company values internally and externally.

Need to Have

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Sales, Business, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience, preferably in telecommunications or IT.
  • Proven success building pipeline, generating MRR, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience with enterprise CRM platforms; HubSpot preferred.
  • Certification in enterprise sales methodologies (CPSA, Challenger, TAS, Value Selling, etc.) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to take initiative.
  • Experience in a startup and/or telecommunications environment.
