Director, Sales and Market Development
Hiboo Networks Inc. is adding a Director, Sales & Market Development to serve as a foundational leader during our next phase of growth.
We are a fast-growing, facility-based data networking provider, operating our own 100% fibre network, focused on delivering enterprise-grade data communications, internet, and cloud services.
In this role, you will act as the market architect of our commercial expansion in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, responsible for scaling revenue through direct sales excellence and the strategic cultivation of channel partnerships.
What You Will Do
- Develop and Execute Sales Strategy: Design and implement a multi-channel sales approach targeting businesses of all sizes, including direct sales and channel partnerships.
- Build and Lead a Winning Team: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Revenue Growth: Exceed sales targets by identifying new market opportunities, building a strong pipeline, and closing key strategic deals.
- Forge Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, technology partners, and key influencers to expand market reach.
- Market and Product Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on Hiboo’s services and the competitive landscape, using deep knowledge of data communications, security, and cloud solutions to position offerings effectively.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Sales & Market Development Leadership: 10+ years of experience in a sales leadership role within the enterprise data networking industry.
- Startup Mentality: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves.
- Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of enterprise data networking solutions including fibre, data security, and cloud services, with insight into market gaps and customer pain points.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to translate big-picture vision into clear, actionable sales plans.
- Excellent Communicator: Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Need to Have
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive sales and market experience in the data services industry.
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience building and developing successful sales and partnership teams.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the sales process, with a proven ability to coach teams to success.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate strategic business imperatives.
- Demonstrated track record of leading teams to consistent, sustainable high performance and exceeding financial targets.
- High level of integrity; trustworthy, accountable, and committed to doing what is right.
Great to Have
- Professional sales certification(s).
- Experience in a startup environment and/or the IT or telecommunications industry.
- Bilingual (English and French).
