Manager, Finance and Operations

Hiboo Networks Inc. is currently searching for a talented individual to join our team as the Manager, Finance and Operations.

This position will be responsible for developing and providing various financial and operational oversight to the team including supporting accounts payable, receivables, payroll, procurement, cash management processes, financial planning, budgeting, reporting, operational metrics, process improvements and coordination with other financial functions.

The successful candidate will have a passion for finance as well as business operations and for developing innovative solutions for efficiencies.

What Will You Do?

Finance

  • Lead the financial and operational reporting process include gathering, consolidating and providing monthly and quarterly reports
  • Lead the budget/forecast process
  • Lead the creation (and regular updating) of operations reviews, management dashboards, financial forecasts, variance analysis and performance measures
  • Oversee the accounts payable function to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions (manage bill payments and receivables with timely invoicing, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of revenue collected)
  • Manage the payroll processing function, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and timely payment of salaries
  • Create the company’s “Limits of Authority” document
  • Assist in the analysis of sales opportunities by preparing mini “P&L” statements for each project that the sales team would like to undertake
  • Ensure compliance with all Hydro Ottawa financial policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the calculation and execution of the sales compensation process
  • Lead and mentor other finance professionals (AR/AP employee)
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of financial systems and recommend enhancements

Operations

  • Plan, monitor and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
  • Supports development, ongoing evaluations of business metrics
  • Provide appropriate support to business to ensure control of direct costs including detailed analysis of monthly costs, assistance in identifying and achieving any cost-saving initiatives
  • Assist in the procurement processes, including vendor payments and expense management
  • Oversee the RFP process for operational procurement to ensure compliance and effective vendor selection
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the financial operations
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and developing, implementing monitoring, and evaluating the strategic and operational plans

Need to Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field, MBA is asset
  • Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent considered an asset
  • A minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years of relevant work experience in financial operations
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing staff/team
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Experience or familiarity with Accounting software and Financial reporting
  • Strong business acumen with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with business intelligence data analytics platforms
  • Experience preferred in development of Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plans
  • Sound understanding of business planning processes, business case development and capital planning, and ability to assess and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset
